Approach to Treatment

Because there is a complex relationship between health, mental health, and addiction, our staff provides an integrated approach that focuses on the whole person.

No matter how you enter services, you will participate in a comprehensive assessment to determine the most appropriate course of treatment for you. If MOUD is determined to be an option, staff will provide education about the different forms of MOUD.

Forms of MOUD Offered

Together you develop a plan with your provider for the specific form of MOUD treatment, level of care, and length of service based on your individual needs. Two forms of MOUD are offered at LCBHS:

  • Treatment with Buprenorphine
  • Treatment with short- or long-acting Naltrexone

Initial toxicology screening is required, as are laboratory studies to establish a baseline so the provider can monitor your response to treatment over time. Ongoing random toxicology screening is an integral part of treatment. Medically monitored withdrawal management is provided in a residential setting and is available if needed.

There is not a set time length for MOUD. While many people may need to stay on medication indefinitely, others may choose to taper off or discontinue using MOUD medications.

Cost of MOUD

LCBHS provides MOUD services at a reduced fee or no cost basis depending on income and individual third-party coverage.
